Tequila is made from agave, a plant that contains medicinal properties, such as to control cholesterol levels, prevent diabetes, senil dementia and cardiovascular accidents. It's a good remedy for the flu given that acts as an analgesic and cauteriser for the throat. The recipe is to mix some Tequila with agave syrup and fresh lime juice.
Tequila does not give you a hangover, this is due to the fact that is solely elaborated with agave and does not go through any chemical process.
It can only be named Tequila if it’s produced in Jalisco, Nayarit, Guanajuato, Michoacan and Tamaulipas, since it is distilled from blue agave that has Appellation of Origin.
Since it comes from the agave plant, Tequila is low in calories, even better, it helps to diminish appetite and dissolve fat.
The common name for the tequila glass is “caballito” (little horse), this is because the ranchman carried hanging out a glass to serve the beverage while riding horse and when they were asked what was the glass for, they answered “for the Tequila on the caballito”.
